as i've discovered... you are never too old to do a degree and an artist's life happily begins at 55! (i am now 74)
whilst working as a physiotherapist, i embarked upon an applied arts degree, which led me to ceramics. after a pre-degree year, a two year foundation degree and a two year top-up to a full degree, i discovered a passion for combining glazed earthenware, lightbox drawings, hand drawn and painted images as transfers and gold leaf to create completely unique decorative pieces.
i take inspiration from the seasons, places in the uk and popular culture and love exploring how to develop ideas within my own distinctive style.
i also do commissions, including commemorative plates and bespoke designs.
i am based in brighouse in west yorkshire, and i enjoy creating my designs at home in my studio where I also get to work on my wheel!
